Horrobin Family History 


I am grateful to Joyce Winfield for the loan of Philip HORROBIN`s book & for other documents which give information about the HORROBIN family.  The book also details the deaths of his relatives the OLLERENSHAWS  I have included information from Memorial Cards at the bottom of the page. including two for the JOULE family

This book contains mainly information which Philip HORROBIN found useful.   It includes cuttings from newspapers on Dog Licenses: Extraordinary Experiments; Income Tax as well as recipes & a Discount Table. 

One of the pages of the book states:

Philip HORROBIN of Lee Head died December 26th 1887 aged 76 years. Intered Fernilee

Philip HORROBIN of Rushop House & late of Lee Head died Sept 27th 1921 aged 79 years. Intered Fernilee

Alice HORROBIN wife of Philip HORROBIN died Sept 20th 1916 aged 67 years Intered Fernilee

Elizabeth HORROBIN of Lee Head died 1878 aged 32 years Interred Fernilee

Hannah HORROBIN of Lee Head died 1887 aged 43 years Interred Fernilee

Mary HORROBIN of Lee Head died Jan 18th 1876 aged 27 years Interred Fernilee

Thomas HORROBIN of Lee Head died in New Zealand November 1918 aged 67 years (*see below)

William HORROBIN of Lee Head died Nov 20th aged 7 months Interred Chapel en le Frith

As both Philip HORROBINs mentioned above had died before this was written, it is not clear who the writer was.

Then in Probate Index

Thomas HORROBIN farmer of Ohau filed 21 Dec 1917 probate number 22265

through Wellington court held Archives NZ, Wellington.

A Thomas HORROBIN married a Grace BOOTHROYD 1883 in Chorlton and also in NZ records a Boothroyd Pascoe HORROBIN died 1943 in WW2 in NZRAF aged 20 so possibly a grandson.
